Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of Afghanistan, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, said over the past two weeks he has approved eight projects worth 750 million afghanis that were proposed by Kabul Municipality.Addressing a ceremony on signing the Amu Darya River Basin oil extraction agreement with a Chinese company, Baradar said Kabul&s landscape has changed since the Islamic Emirate came to power.Baradar said the country&s economy will gradually improve as major national projects are implemented.Among the projects being undertaken by the municipality is the reconstruction of roads and the linking of areas.
Kabul residents welcomed this and said this is a good move as it helps reduce traffic congestion.Kabul Municipality is currently implementing 40 projects for road construction and repair, and intersection upgrades, among others across the city.
