"Nitish ji had agitated for Lalu ji's resignation.

By the same yardstick, he should sack Tejashwi now," Modi told TOI, adding it was JD(U) chief Lalan Singh who had submitted "evidence" against Tejashwi to then PM Manmohan Singh demanding Lalu be sacked as railway minister. The demand was rejected by RJD, JD(U) and Congress who said the chargesheet was prompted by BJP's fears on efforts for opposition unity. The fresh chargesheet is based on investigation into the allegation that land parcels bought by a company, floated only for the purpose of facilitating the scam, for Rs 1.8 crore was sold to the Lalu clan for a mere Rs 1 lakh.Investigations also showed, the chargesheet claimed, that the land parcels in question happened to be next to the plots the Lalu clan already owned, and that their owners had been lured to transfer the plots in lieu of Group D jobs with the railways. The accused, the CBI claimed, had allegedly collected applications and documents of such candidates through associates and then sent those to West Central Railway for processing and providing jobs.

A hard disk containing lists of candidates (who were engaged) was recovered during searches by the CBI which took place after registration of an FIR on May 18, 2022, it added.02:20Land for job scam: Sushil Modi demands immediate dismissal of Tejashwi Yadav from Bihar Cabinet
