According to a source, the SSP's resignation will be approved by lifting his suspension. However, he has got immunity from the case of sexual harassment.

The sexual harassment occurred in June when the SSP, who was serving as chief of the Far-Western Province Police Office, proposed to the female head constable that they spend Friday together saying that he liked her. After the female head constable filed a complaint, the investigation began.

As the police headquarters got ready to demote him, SSP Pal chose to resign. The investigation found that SSP Pal was previously involved in similar sexual harassment incidents within the police organisation as well.A version of this article appears in the print on October 3, 2023, of The Himalayan Times .
