RAJOURI: Security forces gunned down a highly-ranked terrorist leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba in an ongoing operation in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Quari, named terrorist was a Pak National and had been trained on the Pak-Afghan Front.

As per the information provided by PRO defence, Quari, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was active in Rajouri-Poonch along with his group for the past year.PRO defence said that he is believed to be the mastermind of the Dangri and Kandi attacks.

The terrorist group had assigned him the task of reviving terrorism in the region.

The terrorist was an expert in IEDs and a trained sniper.

He was the master of operating and hiding from Caves, PRO defence said.

The Rajouri encounter between terrorists and the security forces (Army and J-K Police) entered its second day on Thursday in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal in the district.

Sources on Wednesday informed that four army personnel, including two officers, lost their lives in an ongoing encounter with terrorists in the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources added that after receiving inputs about the movement of a group of terrorists in the area, troops, including special forces, were deployed.
