NEW DELHI: Aaron Finch, the former Australian captain, openly acknowledged his struggle against the swing bowling prowess of India's Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Despite making concerted efforts to conquer this challenge, Finch found himself unable to overcome Bhuvneshwar's skillful deliveries for the last 15 years.For those not acquainted with the specifics, Bhuvneshwar managed to dismiss Finch on four occasions during ODIs in the year 2019.

In these encounters, Finch, a right-handed batter, posted modest scores of 6, 6, 14, and faced a duck, illustrating the difficulty he faced when confronting Bhuvneshwar's bowling excellence.During a Q and A session on Twitter - which goes by X now, the former Australian skipper was asked about the reason behind the weakness against the Indian seamer."Big fan here, why did bhuvi troubled you a bit..

Could you elaborate? Is it your feet coming across?? a fan asked Finch.“Yep!! Tried for 15 years to stop that happening,” Finch replied.Despite his shortcomings against Bhuvneshwar and other bowlers who can swing the new ball.

Finch had a successful career as an opener, leading Australia to victory in the T20 World Cup in 2021.Finch's cricket career has been marked by outstanding achievements, solidifying his position as a top-tier player across various formats.

Notably, he played a pivotal role in Australia's triumphant ICC Men's Cricket World Cup campaign in 2015.In the T20I arena, Finch showcased his dominance, amassing an impressive total of 3,120 runs in 103 matches.

His remarkable innings of 172 off 76 balls against Zimbabwe in July 2018 stands as the highest score in both men's and women's T20I history.Finch's leadership qualities were evident as he captained in a record-breaking 76 T20I matches, while also recording two centuries and 19 half-centuries during his T20I international career.His overall T20 statistics are nothing short of remarkable.

Over the course of 382 matches, Finch racked up a staggering 11,392 runs in 376 innings, boasting a solid average of 33.80.

With eight centuries and 77 fifties, including a best score of 172, Finch maintained an impressive strike rate of 138.53.Although he had limited Test experience, featuring in just five matches, Finch's impact was evident, contributing 278 runs.

In the ODI format, he amassed 5,406 runs in 146 matches, a feat highlighted by 17 centuries and 30 half-centuries.Finch has been the top-ranked batter in the ICC Men's T20I Player Rankings, achieved fourth place in ODIs and reached a best of 59th in the Test rankings.

He won the ICC Men's T20I Performance of the Year in 2018 for his knock against Zimbabwe, having previously won it in 2014 for his 156 runs from 63 balls against England in Southampton.(With ANI inputs)
