The Chilean Chamber of Deputies has accepted the resignation of its president, Vlado Mirosevic, following an agreement reached by various political groups in the country.The decision comes in the midst of political tensions that have been affecting Chile.Mirosevics resignation was officially announced in a previous session and received approval from 124 members in favor, with only 2 votes against, as reported by the Chilean Congress.As a result, the Board of Directors of the Chilean Lower House, which previously consisted of vice-presidents Cristin Tapia and Catalina Prez, will now take over.Vlado Mirosevic.
(Photo Internet reproduction)The election for the new board of directors will take place in the coming days.In late June, Mirosevic expressed that Chile is currently going through challenging times marked by significant political aggression and disorder within the Chamber.He stated his hope that he has been able to contribute to bringing order and restoring dialogue and civic coexistence, which are crucial in the National Congress.Mirosevic belongs to the political bloc that supports Chilean President Gabriel Boric.The president himself has faced allegations of corruption, along with Catalina Prez, who is also a pro-government deputy and has resigned from her position today.Prez, who led the Democratic Revolution party, is currently under investigation by the Chilean Justice for alleged fund diversion through foundations associated with the political group.These foundations also hold positions within various ministries of the Chilean Government.
