Mahindra - Mahindra is all set to unveil its Thar 5-door SUV on August 15, 2023.
The 5-door Thar will mark its global debut in South Africa on the said date.
Since 1996, Mahindra has had a strong presence in the South African market, with XUV300, XUV700, and Scorpio-N on sale in this country.
Ahead of its global debut, here is what to expect from the 5-door Thar SUV.
Mahindra Thar 5-door: Design and features Dimensionally, the Mahindra Thar 5-door would be significantly larger than the Jimny 5-door, according to recent reports.
Mahindra Thar 5-door is likely to have a five-seat configuration and it might come with third-row seats as well, according to recent spy shots.
Another test mule that has been spotted testing revealed that the upcoming 5-door SUV will come equipped with a sunroof.
It is expected to get a single-pan electric sunroof.
Apart from this, the SUV will have a longer wheelbase and two extra doors.
Other features will remain the same as in the current-gen Thar.

Both engines will be mated with a manual and an automatic gearbox.
Earlier spy shots have also revealed that the centre console will have a 4X2 lever with petrol and diesel engines in the works.The Mahindra Thar 5-door will come to the Indian market in 2024.
Once launched, it will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
Currently, the Thar 3-door is priced between Rs 10.54 lakh - Rs 16.77 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).
We expect the 5-door Thar to cost a premium over the current-gen model.
