
TEHRAN Iran inaugurated or broke ground on 69 advancement projects in its totally free and special economic zones on Saturday, marking the 8th day of the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations.
The event was held by means of video conference with the participation of Reza Masrour, secretary of the Free and Special Economic Zones High Council.According to IRNA, the jobs include 25 advancements in the Maku, Aras, Qeshm, Kish, and Qasr-e Shirin free zones, valued at 10.95 trillion rials ($21.9 million).
In addition, 19 projects in these zones were formally launched.More than 20 development tasks in special economic zones, worth 33.77 trillion rials ($67.5 million) and 251 million, were likewise inaugurated, while 6 others broke ground.Masrour specified that the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations offer an opportunity to display the achievements of the Islamic Revolution, including that despite financial sanctions, free zones should work as growth engines for their respective provinces.He emphasized the need for fast infrastructure advancement in free zones, noting that each areas progress plans will be revealed in the coming months, with additional improvements anticipated next year.Referring to Qeshm as the land of chances, Masrour highlighted its strategic position along global passages and its potential in tourism and energy industries.He also announced that major jobs in Kish would be inaugurated in the coming months with the presidents existence, noting current growth in tourist on the island.Discussing Qasr-e Shirin Free Zone, the main invited Iraqi investors to participate in its advancement, stressing the value of completing infrastructure projects, particularly in water, electricity, gas, and wastewater systems.
