KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari and her visiting Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held bilateral talks at Rastrapati Bhavan in Sheetal Niwas, the formerofficial residence in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu this evening.

The meeting between the two leaders focused on various aspects and dimensions of Nepal-China relations.

Earlier, President Bidya Devi Bhandari welcomed and received the Chinese president upon his arrival, at Tribhuvan International Airport. Likewise, a squad from the Nepal Army formed the guard of honour while President Bhandari received him at the airport.

From the airport, the carcade of President Xi headed for Soaltee Crowne Plaza located at Tahachal where they will stay during their two-day visit.

Subsequently, President Xi went on to pay a courtesy call on President Bhandari at her official residence.

The Chinese President also met with the president of the main opposition party Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba today. During the meeting with the Chinese President, NC president Deuba discussed ways to strengthen the ages-old bilateral ties between Nepal and China. Deuba tweeted:

President Bhandari hosted a state banquet in honour of her Chinese counterpart and visiting dignitaries at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza.

The President of the PeopleRepublic of China, Xi Jinping is on two-day state visit to Nepal at the friendly invitation of President Bhandari. The visiting Chinese President leads a delegation comprising State Councilor and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the PeopleRepublic of China Wang Yi among other high ranking officials.

KATHMANDU: Chinese President Xi Jinping who arrived yesterday for his two-day state visit to Nepal held a one-to-one meeting with the co-chair of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal today.

The meeting was held at Solatee Crowne Plaza, where President Xi is staying with other Chinese dignitaries.

Meanwhile, Xi also held discussions with the senior leaders of the ruling party, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal and others.

KATHMANDU: National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina said that the Chinese support is inevitable for Nepalroad to prosperity.

Talking about his meeting with the Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday, Chairman Timilsina extended his gratitude to China for their continuous support to Nepaldevelopment endeavours.

Meanwhile, on the occasion, President Xi also expressed the readiness of China to provide every possible support to Nepal for fulfilling its goal of ‘prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali&.
