TEHRAN-- A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was inked in between Iran and Russia on Tuesday to boost ties on media issues.The MOU was signed by the Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia, Bella Cherkesova, and Irans Deputy Culture Minister for Press Affairs, Farshad Mahdipur, in Tehran.Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili also remained in presence at the conference with a Russian media delegation headed by Cherkesova, the culture ministry announced.
The long history of living in the community and the current condition of the area highlight the need to develop media relations in between Iran and Russia, Esmaeili stated.
Today, Iran and Russia have been under media attack from their competitors, which provide a tarnished picture of the 2 countries, therefore Iran and Russia need to provide an accurate picture of themselves in their media, he added.
The presidents of the 2 countries have always worried the requirement for the growth of relations on media issues, he noted.Accordingly, 2 cultural centers will be established in the 2 countries to pursue the policies that will help the matter.He described the viewpoint on the media relations between Iran and Russia as intense and revealed his hope that the activities of the mutual media committees would change into an example of a successful media collaboration.For her part, Cherkesova stated that agents of Russias significant news agencies participated in the conferences the committees have kept in Tehran over the previous few days.
She revealed her hope that by the implementation of the contract, a brand-new season of media relations would open in between Iran and Russia.
Iran is looking for closer relations with Russian on cultural concerns under the administration of Ebrahim Raisi.Director of the Cinema Organization of Iran, Mohammad Khazaei, and Deputy Culture Minister for Cultural Affairs Yaser Ahmadvand checked out Russia in August and September 2022.
