Stock market update: Realty shares fall; Phoenix Mills down over 2%

NEW DELHI: Realty shares were trading in the negative zone in Friday's morning session. Shares of Phoenix Mills (down 2.46 per cent), Oberoi Realty (down 1.98 per cent), Sunteck Realty (down 1.56 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers (down 1.24 per cent) were the worst performers in the index. Prestige Estates Projects (down 1.10 per cent), DLF (down 1.09 per cent), Godrej Properties (down 0.54 per cent) and Sobha (down 0.27 per cent) too were trading lower.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 1.06 per cent down at 278.70 around 10:21 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 72 points at 11,524.90 while the BSE Sensex was down 226.74 points at 38,670.72.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Dish TV India, Biocon, Ashok Leyland, SBI, NTPC, ONGC, Tata Motors and NCC were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
